Today's STAAR failure has created unnecessary stress for our districts, students, and parents. Beyond being an inefficient measure of student success, we now know it's also an ineffective, unreliable, and dysfunctional system. It's time we reassess this assessment.
When a student is late to class it’s frustrating & disruptive.
But, imagine how the dynamic would shift in your classroom if instead of greeting the #student with frustration & disappointment, you said,
‘I hope everything is all right. I’m glad you’re here.’

Sometimes the hardest thing to do is not immediately react to something you disagree with. Take the time to gather your thoughts, conduct some research, and reflect. In the end it will lead to a more productive outcome.
The next few months will be very critical for retaining teachers as many are on the brink of leaving.
