What are those flashes on the Moon?

Three meteorites, 20-30 minutes apart, fell on the surface of the Moon this morning. Daichi Fujii, an astrophotographer from Japan, captured this image.

They are likely components of the Geminid meteor shower. After all, it was at its peak these nights. Up to 120 meteors could be seen per hour.
