the concept of the two most undefeated looney tunes fighting over the most defeated looney tune oh lord even shakespeare couldn’t write something so potent
1949: wow what a funny cartoon
2026: wile e coyote and road runner are toxic yaoi and road runner is a yearner who literally seethes when wile e isn’t looking in his general direction for five seconds and he has off camera beef with bugs bunny for being a home wrecker
I was watching Fall 2 and there’s a shot of a plane tire hitting the tarmac as it lands and my immediate thought was “that’s genAI” so I waited through the credits and sure enough for Koala FX there it was
If I were to ever meet Zach Cregger I would tell him he should absolutely ignore RE fans and I would give him a hundred reasons why his direction for the movie was an excellent move to make and would love to see the Resident Evil universe explored this way.
I don’t need to see Chris or Leon or have a movie give me a cramped retelling of Raccoon City, I would just love to see all sorts of spinoff movies in Resident Evil, particularly in the eyes of civilians being thrown into hellish biohazards. And there are plenty of games to give SO many ideas and possibilities for such movies, like Resident Evil Revelations, Resident Evil 4, Operation Javier, etc.
What @zcregger is doing with his Resident Evil movie is not only bold, but pretty freaking ingenious imo. And maybe I’m the sole exception in this regard, but I’d definitely want to see a dozen Resident Evil films like this.
Maybe the hardcore RE fans don’t want anything beyond nostalgia, but I bet a lot of people would love to see the Resident Evil franchise taken to whole new directions like this film, and I’m certainly one of them. I just know we’re in for an awesome time in a few weeks.

I think a movie that seems to celebrate and emulate the player experience is such a fun idea, one fans should be proper up for. Instead people are… well… being… well… umm…
