You have to be absolutely insane to believe you are the best, but you have to believe it anyway or else you will quit when it starts hurting for real. you have to carry that thought around like a weight every day until it becomes a mountain you climb and find out you were right all along, but only because you stayed crazy long enough for wrong to become true.
My 10 Rules for Life and Trading
1. Play your own game.
The market, like life, isn’t a competition against others. It’s a test of whether you can stay true to your edge, your temperament, your plan. The moment you start measuring yourself by someone else’s results, you lose sight of your own progress. There will always be someone better than you.
2. Collaboration over comparison.
In both life and trading, the people who last are the ones who lift others up. Respect those who are still learning. Teach what you know. There’s room for everyone who’s serious about growth. Avoid negative people at all costs.
3. Take criticism with perspective.
You will (and should!) face criticism at different points along the way. Some of it will help you see your own blind spots. Some of it will say more about the critic than about you. Learn to separate truth from projection, and never let noise drown out your own voice.
4. Don’t expect fairness.
Markets are unfair. Life is too. But they reward perseverance, adaptability, and humility. You can’t control outcomes, only your response to them. Protect your mental capital.
5. Energy spent worrying about others is energy you don’t invest in yourself.
Detach from opinions, ego battles, and petty distractions. Focus on your craft, your health, your peace. Longevity over everything else. 20 years from now, your fiercest critics won't be around if you do your job. But if you dont, YOU will be your biggest critic in 20 years.
6. Grace under pressure.
Everyone looks composed in an uptrend. The real test is how you handle the drawdowns... financial, emotional, or personal. Win with humility, lose with dignity, and keep showing up.
7. Keep evolving.
The market changes over time, and so should you. What worked yesterday may not work tomorrow, and that’s okay. Growth isn’t about perfection; it’s about refusing to stagnate.
8. Measure progress, not speed.
Whether it’s your career, your trading, or your personal growth, momentum comes in waves. Don’t ever try to rush your trajectory. Compound small wins, day after day.
9. Never forget why you started.
It’s easy to get lost in noise, pressure, and metrics. But somewhere at the beginning, there was curiosity, excitement, purpose. STAY connected to that. Try to embody superhero you believed in when you were 5 years old.
10. Character compounds.
In the end, people may forget your achievements, but they’ll remember how you carried yourself and how you made them feel. We live in a society with other human beings. Be consistent, be kind, and play the long game in everything you do.
