@MrZachG As usual, spot on. Kids need the pacing that works for them. I used to chug 40 ozs of coffee and do 3 periods of SRA direct instruction choral chant and response and had my careers best results. That was 20 years ago.

I also used incentives they actually wanted.

@MrZachG @JohnCattEd I liked your section on classroom displays. Removing visual noise sends a subconscious message about what is important and removes opportunities for wandering minds. I'm going pull out my abnormal psychology and visual literary books and see if I can find more support.

@MrZachG @JohnCattEd Ya, choral response was what got me hooked on DEI. We had a packaged curriculum (SRA Direct Instruction) and I wasn't sure about it at first, but those 3 years I had the best growth data for special ed students every year and we were actually able to exit students.
