If you’re going to lose a player of that calibre, let it be to European royalty, something Arsenal are not.

Tonali was a mercenary. Bruno misjudged the situation. Isak’s exit was nothing short of disgraceful. Gordon, though? Most fans accepted he needed a fresh start and wished him well.

We forget injuries happen. How many games have we already been without Bruno, Tonali or Gordon? £80m spent on 3 quality players could strengthen the whole squad more than relying on one 29-year-old. One injury changes everything. Just look at Isak.
