@jean_yoon @AwreyKevin @leahmcelrath I was denied a car rental I reserved online in St. Thomas. When I arrived they asked me for my citizenship card and status papers. Showed all my ID on hand: passport, BC provincial licenses, credit cards etc, but it wasn't enough. Didn't get the car.

@jean_yoon @AwreyKevin @leahmcelrath It's true! As a BIPOC woman, I was nervous in Chatham-Kent (and Harrow, Cottam etc) the first times. Definitely noticed when I was being watched. Every small town had people that asked me "Where are you from?" And are clearly displeased when I tell them the truth: Canada.
