Press conferences have become a joke. Instead of answering questions, leaders openly mock journalists for simply doing their jobs, all while our president appears completely out of touch with the basic updates of his own administration
Before you speak down on women.Remember your Hajj & Umrah literally follows the footsteps of a woman who ran between Safa and Marwa looking for help and Allah turned her struggle into a ritual that every man follows
Next episode of Mordis:
"The bank needs official evidence that the marriage has been consummated, in order to approve debit cards for joint spouses accounts".
@bankofmaldives is issuing Visa and Mastercards then limiting transactions to $250 per card and ATM withdrawals abroad to a certain amount. Now they want to be certain tht the card user is the issued person so they want immigration data as well.
Whats next? For medical reasons if the card is used abroad they might request to tap into our medical records and call it equitable and fair usage?
Where does it end? A bank issues u a card, limits what u can do with it, and then wants access to ur personal data to verify tht u r actually using it.
Tht is not banking. Tht is surveillance. State sanctioned, state sponsored surveillance @AGOmv@a_usham
Dear @treetophospital team,
People come expecting better service for the price you charge. But the waiting time is even worse than public hospitals, and the token system is really confusing. The whole experience especially at the counters just feels frustrating.
Rangalhu kolla.
The collapse of an entire cabinet is not an isolated event. It is the latest sign of a government that is unstable, and increasingly unpopular. In the middle of a national fiscal crisis, at one of the most uncertain moments in global affairs, Maldives cannot afford this. I call on President @MMuizzu to bring all parties together in the national interest to address the economic and governance crises facing the Maldives.
Little Azan waited 8 months for a feeding tube before he passed away.
- Why did it take 8 months?
- What is the process to acquire special medication now?
- Which agencies/SOEs are involved in the process?
We want answers @NSPAmaldives
TRIGGER WARNING ‼️
Remember this case?
We finally managed to get the tube through a private party, brought it to the Maldives, but didn’t tell the mom to surprise her… I got ready to go deliver it, so EXCITED, messaged the mother…
And this was her reply.
It was too late!
8 fucking months for STO & NSPA to respond and now this baby is taking his last breaths. I am not just heartbroken, I am angry. Furious. Because to this day there is no explanation from NSPA/STO. No accountability. Nothing!
The deterioration wasn’t caused by the lack of the tube alone but that does NOT give you any excuse to dodge responsibility for taking 8 months.
I swear by God, if this child dies, I will not stop. I will keep pursuing this until every single person responsible, paid with public money, answers for this and hold whoever responsible for the delay accountable. In this government or the next. In this life or the next.
Because if this child dies you have blood on your hands.
And this is just one case we know of. God knows how many more have suffered… how many lives were lost because of this kind of delay, negligence, and indifference, in this Gov and previous governments.
May Allah give strength to little Azan. May He grant him a miracle.
Didn’t Iran issue a warning to evacuate a few days ago? By your logic doesn’t that make it okay? You said that warning people in advance of firing missiles on their homes makes you the most moral army in the world. Well, Iran did the same thing. I guess they’re the moral army now, right? Also, what’s the combatant to noncombatant ratio? Wasn’t that one of your talking points? Or how about: “This is war and you shouldn’t complain after you start a war,” right?
if anyone’s ever interacted with any muslim child during ramadhan, you’ll find that their parents are trying to convince them NOT to fast, but the kids do half fasts out of their own choice. and may Allah reward them for their efforts.
my coworker was pregnant. still showed up every day nauseous, exhausted, trying to prove she was “committed.” never missed a deadline. never complained. even picked up extra work so no one could say she was slacking.
then one afternoon HR scheduled a “role evaluation.” twenty minutes later she walked out pale, holding a folder with her termination papers. they said the company was “moving in a different direction” and needed someone “with more flexibility.”
no warnings. no performance issues. just that.
what they didn’t say is that a week earlier she’d asked about maternity leave policies and whether her position would be secure while she was gone. suddenly her role was “redundant.”
two months later they hired someone new for her exact job.
she lost her income right before giving birth. lost her insurance. lost her sense of safety.
they kept their “family-oriented workplace” slogan on the website.
funny how “different direction” always seems to point straight at the door.
Just imagine how bad the traffic would be on the bridge and the main roads of Hulhumale’ when all the upcoming new housing units will be completed and occupied. Land use plan in anywhere should be planed to accommodate people with movement in consideration. They will not be staying in their accommodation units their entire life throughout the day. People have to go for work. For other daily tasks and essentials. Hulhumale is already a disaster. In another 5 yrs it would be just unbearable. If people from the islands are smart enough they wouldn’t sell their land in the islands and move to this disaster. They would save their lands and try to build their islands to be able to live a sustainable life. Male’ and Hulhumale’ shouldn’t be taken as a model for development. It is not development. It is destruction.
Ameen Mia was just 24. A Bangladeshi worker who went missing in the Maldives. His phone rang unanswered, he never returned to sleep. Complaints were raised and the Thilafushi @WAMCOmv manager was informed. No one took it seriously. He was found dead fallen into the garbage. He is seen falling on CCTV footage, but only checked 48 hours later.
The way Bangladeshi workers in the Maldives are treated as expendable, is surely a national shame!
In a previous post I had the number of days wrong. So I have corrected it.
For many, baby sitters are a basic need. This is especially true in Malé, where both parents work. The reality is shortage in local supply & childcare centres are too expensive for many. Banning foreign baby sitters may force women out of the workforce or turn to unregulated care.
This isn’t about whether the artwork was right or wrong. Art is supposed to provoke different opinions. But owning your work, especially when it sparks nationwide debate, is part of being a designer. It is part of integrity and part of professionalism.
