Machine Concepts has been great with donating material and machining for several years, and Thursday the MHS Battle Bot Club was given a tour. They were kind enough to show us some of the machines and robotic cells for the US Mint, Crown, and Whirlpool!
Th Custom Design tree tradition continues. This year we added a few ornaments created by the CAD classes to make it our own!

We get ourselves into a lot of extra projects around here, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. It takes a lot of awesome people to make it all happen, and I’m grateful for the help!
Any class that spontaneously breaks into a whiteboard design huddle is a good one.
Custom Design class answers the tough questions- like how to make a Minecraft chest latching mechanism. @MinsterSchools
When S&K Products graciously donated last year’s battle bot weapon, they also gave us the plate it was cut from.
Because the bot’s weapon design was the result of his genius and hard work, Eli is the proud new owner of the coolest thing ever! @MinsterSchools
@Prentice_Fablab @TrinityAreaSD@dr_zebrasky These are amazing! My favorite is a warranty claim from the 70s that’s in complete disbelief that the teacher filed a claim two months after the machine broke in the fall. They begrudgingly approved the claim… even though the warranty expired.
The last few weeks, seniors Will and Logan worked especially hard to finish their custom design projects. They can be proud of their hard work, and their willingness to push themselves to do the hard things. @MinsterSchools
Did you know that about 9 in 10 food and beverage cans are made using a Minster press?
Yesterday the Minster HS battle bot club toured the impressive Nidec Minster plant. Thanks to the Co-Op students for their time & sharing their passion for the cool things they do!
Members of our @MinsterTech Battle Bots team gave an informative presentation yesterday to the Minster Service Club.
We’d also like to thank the Service Club for their generous support of the program!
Students in our @MinsterTech CAD classes are gaining experience with all parts of the design and build process. One of their fall projects requires them to create stools using four square feet of wood or less.
The CNC router project is always cool, though sometimes stressful with a lot of moving parts. In this case, it was exciting watching the machine go flat out when an extra digit was added to the feed speed!
