Having ADHD means your vocabulary is either:
- toddler-level (“thingy”)
- Pulitzer Prize Finalist (“existential dissonance”)
or a happy little chaotic mashup of both with a little class and a lot of sass.
THE AUTISTIC URGE TO NOT REGISTER RED FLAGS AS RED FLAGS BECAUSE YOU’RE SO USED TO PEOPLE MISINTERPRETING YOUR HARMLESS BEHAVIOURS AND YOU DON’T WANT TO DO THAT TO ANYONE ELSE, SO YOU GO OVERBOARD TRYING TO FIND ACCEPTABLE EXPLANATIONS FOR OTHER PEOPLE’S UNACCEPTABLE BEHAVIOUR.
honestly if someone is mad at you and refuses to talk about it but has no problem treating you weirdly in the meantime, your respect for them should be at a zero
There's a phrase I heard that sums this up perfectly and here's the break down.
What you give to others is exactly what lives inside you. Once you understand this, people start making a lot more sense.
Because kind people naturally give kindness but damaged people give confusion, mixed signals, disrespect and pain. They never healed from themselves.
That realization changes everything, because you stop taking every bad experience personally. When someone lies to you, uses you, or hurts you emotionally, sometimes it has nothing to do with your value.
It's revealing their character.
Because people can only give from what they have internally. A loving person gives reassurance. A bitter person gives chaos. An insecure person gives inconsistency and distance.
Frankly, that's why emotionally mature people protect their energy carefully because eventually you realise one of the most painful lessons in life is learning that not everybody who wants access to you has good intentions for your heart.
Let this sink in.
REMINDER: You have NO obligation to be nice to people who have been mean to you, even if you’re a nice person by nature. Nasty people don’t deserve your kindness.
If you want to figure out who the real narcissist is and who the actual victim is. Look at who stands alone. The victim is almost always hated for carrying it on their own. While the narcissist is surrounded by groups, enablers and people who laugh along to keep it going
there’s a certain kind of peace in finding the corner of a fandom that genuinely clicks with you instead of forcing urself to be mutuals with ppl u think seems nice but cant handle anyone disagreeing w them
If you've ever felt self destructive
If you ever felt like a horrible person
If you ever had bad coping mechanisms
If you didn't understand some of the things you did and you regret them very much
You don't deserve darkness.
You aren't hopeless.
You matter.
