As we wrap up our lunch networking session for Day #2, we're excited for our second breakout of the day at 1:10pm Eastern, and also for our closing session at 2:10pm Eastern time. Please join us! #MIOER
@Bali_Maha slides for the opening keynote #MIOER makes me wonder why we aren’t focused on the things we’ve learned from the beginning of the pandemic #accessibility#equity#care#compassion And how can we get others to implement these things we learned collectively?
I love the description of Intentionally Equitable Hospitality from @Bali_Maha at #MIOER Summit.

Who's hungry for some #MIOER networking time over lunch? MEEEEE! I've got my sandwich and chips at the ready, and a little bird told me there are fun activities planned. See you all at noon Eastern time!
@ihaveabug We're so sorry, we had some technical difficulties with the links and it took us a minute to swap them out and get the updates pushed. We think we've got it all fixed and all the Zoom gremlins have been dealt with for later sessions.
Apologies, we've got a few Zoom gremlins but we're working out all the issues and will get those breakouts open momentarily. You may need to reload Sched for updated links! Thanks for your patience. #MIOER
Thanks so much to our opening keynote speaker @txtbks for helping us look back and then look forward--now it's time to look forward to some breakout sessions! #MIOER
@txtbks shares a closing thought: Even with the challenges ahead, the work done with Open Education so far shows us that this is possible, and we can do it! Do what you can from where you are, whatever that is, at whatever level. Small actions can change the world. #MIOER
@txtbks Encourages us to think about strategy in 3 ways: Build out infrastructure to make OER "easy" to adopt, Change the political economy re: course materials (make part of tuition?), and reframe the value proposition of OER to connect to pressing advocacy issues. #MIOER
"Looking Back, Looking Forward" is a great theme for this year's #MIOER Summit. At Thursday's keynote, @txtbks highlights the insidious things large publishers have been recently trying: marketing "equitable access" and shifting to subscription services that look like Netflix.
