I’m honestly so grateful Junyoung found a hyung he can truly rely on. someone who gets his military struggles, handles his tantrums, and actually listens to his worries while giving solid advice. the fact that he only met Song Kang recently, yet they already act like chaotic menace siblings is hilarious. both are cute, childish, lowkey a dumb and dumber.. easily my favorite "calm chaos" duo. 🥹🩷

A military friend of #SongKang shared a long message to him under the salon drip video 🥹

“Hello, I’m a junior who spent about nine months serving in the military with actor Song Kang.

On my very first day after transferring in, I was surprised when he approached me first and warmly started talking to me.

Knowing that it’s really not easy for a celebrity to do something like that made me even more touched, and it’s something I still remember.

When I was having a hard time adjusting to military life, he always kindly looked after me, and whenever things were difficult, he was the first one to comfort me. His genuine caring side made him feel just like a close older brother from the neighborhood.

Knowing that I could speak a little Japanese, he even asked me first about how to study Japanese. He was so passionate that he would even stay up during night time to study.

Seeing that passion really motivated me as well and I was able to earn a Japanese-language certification before being discharged from the military.

I still remember how he was more diligent than anyone else, taking care of himself every single day and putting so much effort into exercise, studying, skincare, and many other things.

We also went running together, and he gave me a lot of advice about life. It made me realize many times that, “This is truly someone who is a great person.”

Whenever we went somewhere together or went out to have fun, he would always pay first.

When I once asked him if it was really okay for me to keep receiving so much from him, Kang hyung said, “Younger brothers are supposed to let their older brothers treat them.”

He told me it was okay, saying, “As long as you ate well, that’s all that matters. As long as you had fun, that’s all that matters.”

I have so many memories that I’m grateful for that I can’t express them all in writing, but his warmth was so genuine that I don’t think I’ll ever forget it.

I’ll never forget how grateful I am to him, and I’ll always continue to support and cheer him on! I hope he always stays healthy and happy.”

#SongKang’s military friend shared a touching story an hour ago after watching him on Salon Drip!

“Hello, I’m someone who spent about eight months serving in the military alongside actor Song Kang!

At first, I was intimidated because I was very conscious of the fact that he was a celebrity, but as we spent time together he treated us so comfortably like an older brother from the neighborhood that I eventually forgot he was a celebrity while we were in the unit.

What I noticed about him was that he was truly diligent and very thorough when it came to taking care of himself. Whenever I went to the gym on weekend mornings, I often saw him running on the treadmill by himself. Even during his free time, he would constantly read, study, and exercise, consistently working on self-improvement. Seeing him like that taught me a lot, and personally, I thought he was a really admirable person.

Also in the video, he mentioned that we paid about 20% when we went out on leave, but whenever we went out together, he never once asked us to pay. Instead, he paid for almost everything himself.

When I was discharged from the military, he even gave me perfume as a gift. Besides that, there were so many things I was grateful to him for while we were living together.

He wasn’t just an image created for television. The person I got to know firsthand during the eight months we spent together remains just as wonderful a memory to me to this day.

I hope he continues to be the good person he is now and stays active for a long time. As someone who shared that time with him, I’ll always be rooting for him!”
