Was Hamas in the school?
Maybe.
Does that make it a legitimate target?
Legally, maybe, but personally, I think not.
Why can’t IDF soldiers enter the school and kill Hamas by shooting them.
It’s riskier, but it avoids civilian casualties.
Israel has to balance the risk to their soldiers, and the risk of civilian casualties. That balance is currently very swayed against civilians.
