@TrueBenito@Pint0fStout@WilsonTBailey As for MLMD, Not in govt but at Stormont? Like GavinR, then. He's an MP, not an MLA, and he was holding press conferences in the Great Hall only this week. Party leaders visit their own party at Stormont all the time, Paul. Hers just happens to be the biggest one in the building.
@TrueBenito@Pint0fStout@WilsonTBailey "Accepted it"?Bryson told unionists to withdraw support for the PSNI,bands say they'll stop notifying parades, and Carla's just quit as a DUP officer over it😂 Courts overturn it, fine, everyone accepts it. And Gavin Robinson's not in the Executive either, but he comments plenty!
@William27244404@AustinRSheridan@Cairnlodge1@MaryLouMcDonald Her party's the biggest in your country, William, so it concerns her plenty. And by your logic, a PM whose party doesn't even stand here, and a Secretary of State who just banned your parade, should keep out too. Funny how that rule only applies to Mary Lou.
@William27244404@AustinRSheridan@Cairnlodge1@MaryLouMcDonald She leads the biggest party in the North, William, so she's every right to be there. By your logic, Burnham and his Secretary of State should keep their noses out too. Nobody here elected either of them, and one of them just banned Drumcree parade😂
@Christo69493021@KirbyODonnell22@PaulWil38543502 A defence lawyer represents whoever walks through the door, Christopher. That's the rule of law. That exact smear was used in the Commons weeks before Pat Finucane was shot dead. De Silva found "shocking" state collusion and Cameron apologised. Pick a different line.
@TrueBenito@Pint0fStout@WilsonTBailey SF signed the GFA and accepted British authority, yep. So you'll accept the British Secretary of State banned Drumcree then? Same agreement gives Dublin a formal role and leaves the door open to a united Ireland by consent. You don't get to pick the bits you like unfortunately.
@lilyhilbo@Pint0fStout@StefSpodeUK Someone with the name "Finbar Delaney" is a "foreigner" on the island of Ireland? You might want to elaborate on that..... As for "couldn't stop you"
Did the orange order get to march up Garvaghy Road yet? Asking for a friend. 🤣
@PaddyShanks 3/3
As for what the RUC thought in the 80s, the residents have been saying no for 30 years since. And bringing up the PIRA is just changin the subject again, which seems to be your goto when you're losing or face uncomfortable truths
@PaddyShanks 2/3
in Portadown in 1997.
Sinn Féin didn't throw those petrol bombs or pull those triggers. Blaming the people who objected to a parade for the killings carried out by those who couldn't take no for an answer is some going.
@PaddyShanks I am not from the area, but given there's 21 deaths of locals from the area linked to the contentious march, I can fully sympathise with the residents on why any notion of it returning isn't welcome.
Why do the OO insist on that route, bearing in mind it's a nationalist area?
@PaddyShanks No longer enforced', but still the rule Paddy. And the Orange O is men only, the women have a separate association, same as the AOH. Difference is the AOH arent in court trying to march down roads where they are not wanted.
@PaddyShanks Nobody said it was illegal Paddy.
I said the Orange Order's rules, and the Order WOULD throw you out for marrying a catholic.
Thats not the state, thats the Orange Order. Changing the subject to "Ne Temere" doesnt change that!
