Many years ago met a Nigerian man in Freetown.

We were at his bank and I made a comment like “There’s no money in #SierraLeone.”

He looked me dead in the eye and said, “na lie!”🤣

“If there was no money here you think I would leave Lagos? You think the Indians and Lebanese are here for the beach? Money day ya, make we day ya!”

He was right! There is money to be made in Salone for enterprising entrepreneurs and those who understand what the market needs.

I’m not saying you should sell your house in the diaspora and move to SL. What I'm saying is that the diaspora needs to reframe the way we see, do business and speak of Salone.
