Year 5 from @seymour_road enjoyed the beautiful weather at Dovestone Reservoir on Tuesday. During the day they completed a variety of activities, including a nature scavenger hunt, guided meditation in a forest plus a 4.5km walk where they put their orienteering and map reading skills to the test.
Walking in the heat was challenging, but students showed amazing resilience and kept each other motivated throughout - telling stories and singing songs on our way around!

For Earth Day 2025 @seymour_road was lucky enough to welcome Emily from @Biffa . Children from Reception to Year 6 took part in their no time to waste assembly. They learned which materials go in which bin and what they can do to help look after our planet.

Year 4 from @seymour_road had a virtual author visit from @AlexFKoya  the co-writer of @MarcusRashford first fictional book, The Breakfast Club Adventures: The Beast Beyond the Fence. They got the opportunity to ask questions, and took the opportunity to think about how different authors approach writing.

Today, @seymour_road celebrated International Women’s Day by organising a girls football tournament. Over 60 children took part across 8 games - the boys also decided to cheer on from the sidelines!

Today staff and pupils at  @seymour_road celebrated World Book Day. They all dressed up as characters from their favourite books and enjoyed activities like making bookmarks, writing fact files and discovering new and exciting books from our friends.

Children from @seymour_road have been to the @McrMuseum to learn about different ways to classify animals. This is linked to working scientifically, within the unit, Animals Including Humans. This has also helped the children to look at different animals and their skeletons, using comparison techniques to support their work in Science.

Today, Year 3 pupils from @seymour_road went on a trip to Marple Locks to learn about rivers and the water cycle. After a very wet walk down the canal, the children took shelter in Marple library to read a book and were so lucky that they were each given a book to take home with them.
