1) This was designed for use in the official competitive tournaments.

2) 6v6 matches would take SO LONG. 3-man Singles and 4-man Doubles is done in about seven minutes. You can get in a match, get out, and start another quickly (a la Fortnite).

My favorite thing about writing for D&D is that there's inspiration for mechanics and challenges and NPCs everywhere, from movies to books to video games.
