My name is Samira. I live in Jigjiga, but I was born and raised in Toronto, Canada. At a young age, my family moved from Toronto to Jigjiga. One year ago, I got divorced but before that, I graduated from secondary school. Coincidentally,

As a concerned observer of regional stability and international law, I strongly urge urgent action to safeguard Somalia’s unity and territorial integrity and avoid civil war within Somalia and regional proxy war, the following steps must urgently take:
Silence now risks dangerous precedent.
1: Somalia should urgently convene the UN Security Council and formally challenge Israel’s recognition of Somaliland.
2: The African Union must hold an emergency session and condemn any action violating the 1963 AU Charter and Africa’s agreed borders.
3: The Arab League should urgently hold an emergency conference and reaffirm Somalia’s sovereignty and reject unilateral recognition.
4: The OIC must issue a clear statement supporting Somalia’s unity and territorial integrity.
5: Somalia should seek temporary naval security cooperation with partners such as Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey to protect its territorial waters.
6: A Somali-led dialogue between Somalia and Somaliland must begin urgently to address longstanding grievances free from external imposition.
7: Somalia’s president should address the nation and call for unity.
8: Political actors, intellectuals, and religious leaders should rise above divisions and speak with one voice.
9: Regional frontline states Ethiopia, Djibouti, and Kenya should reaffirm support for Somalia’s unity and stability.
Somalia’s sovereignty matters for Africa, the region, and international law.
Somalia’s sovereignty is not optional.
It matters for Africa.
It matters for the region.
It matters for international law.
Somalia’s sovereignty is non-negotiable. Any attempt to recognize a breakaway administration is not only an assault on Somalia’s territorial integrity, but a dangerous new front aimed at dividing Africa. The SSF reject it unequivocally.
Do not wait for Ramadhan to transform you; begin nurturing your soul now, for the seeds you sow today are the harvest you will reap then.
May Allah grant us the resolve to prepare from this moment and bless us with the opportunity to reach and experience Ramadhan.
A working husband comes home to rest, while a working wife comes home to start her second shift. The problem isn’t women’s independence, it’s men’s dependence.
At 35 years you will go back home after you have paid school fee for your siblings, paid your aunties and Uncles hospital bills, your cousin school fees but you have zero investments. Trust me they will laugh at you and avoid you. Stay observant.
I texted my husband at 10am that I received bad news about my father’s health and within 15 mins he was at my office, had already called my assistant to clear my calendar (before I could even walk to her office) and put me in the car to go to the hospital. He sat with me for 8 hours in an uncomfortable chair, he lost his entire work day including a court appearance, made sure my mom and I stayed hydrated (important), asked questions to doctors that I couldn’t think of, and never once complained.
I am sure there are millions of partners who have done the same in a loved one’s time of need but in my line of work it is easy to forget what love truly looks like.
If they want to they will.
@SaraGonzalesTX This isn't Somali food, it’s a Kenyan traditional dish called Ugali. If you're interested in trying Somali cuisine, consider Anjela, Malawax with liver, Suqar,
or rice with meat and pasta, these are authentic Somali dishes. And you are such a close-minded
Person so grow up.
A lot is happening at our home back, and this is one example. People often say, "The teacher is the second father." However, we need to recognize what is going on, and parents and guardians should be aware of where their children go for Madarasa and school.
This chapter took courage, sacrifices, long nights nd endless prayer. But I made it. Alhamdulillah. I am stepping into the next phase of my life with confidence, gratitude nd a heart ready for bigger blessings. 🎓🤍
Shifa, someone I care about deeply, was kidnapped & held w/o due process alongside other activists is being threatened with torture. What Ben-Gvir threatened is just a fraction of what they do to Palestinians.
We need intl pressure to end the Genocide & release ALL prisoners.
