We utilized a clip chart with ADULTS during our training this morning. Turns out that adults absolutely hate this public display of behavior. Resulted in anxiety, disengagement, fear, resentment and embarrassment. If adults don’t like these tools, how do you think kids feel?

Today, my class were learning how to make the simple dish of pasta with some passata sauce topped with cheese. 1 child said “Miss Cooke, now I know how hard my Granny works to make breakfast, lunch AND dinner.” He then asked for the recipe so he could make it for her ❤️👍

@mrsjw93 I have a couple of children I use this with too! Blue and yellow highlighters! They also use Berol Handwriting pens so they don’t have to lean as hard with weaker fine motor skills impacting their pencil grip and pressure ☺️ I’m delighted and so are they, confidence sky high!!

Have been waiting for our #kapla bricks to arrive and they got to school today! Fiddled about with them for 10 minutes today and already know that they are going to be such a great resource - I’m so excited to share them with my class tomorrow!

Counting collections - really encourages mine to think about how to group the numbers they are dealing with and recognising that if they have 10 pots of 10, that is 100 etc. My class love this and they are a p5/6 and is easy to differentiate 🙂

@Miss_Alderson @MissEstlick Honestly - you could prepare everything under the sun for the first 2 weeks then after day 1 with your class have to redo everything. Until you know them and they know you preparing loads of stuff is just wasting your own time! Enjoy your holidays - a well deserved break 😊

On a @ScotRail train from Inverness to Glasgow just now - every carriage is full, people standing and sitting on the floors, the toilets are no longer working. Goodness knows what would happen if someone was to fall ill and needed help urgently! Terrible!

@h_s_bglasgow @StrathDigitalEd @HyndlandPS I regularly think back to my time at Hyndland on my final placement! Learned lots and had the most wonderful class 🤗. A very supportive staff helped through the tough times that placement brings!
