We all joked about it.
We didn’t really think after everything else that they’d really do it.
Again.
So we joked about it.
Poor deluded fools.
What’s worse than guidance on a Friday night?
Guidance on a Friday night of the bank holiday weekend before you go back to school.
@bbceducation@educationgovuk@GavinWilliamson This is shocking - Having changed the back to school guidance at the latest time possible (the Friday *night* before bank holiday/students arrival) how can you “expect” certain things to be done and planned for!? #IncompetentUKGovt
You couldn’t make it up(?)
They actually did update the guidance pretty much the day before school starts- and not just a couple of updates either.
If there was ever a time when school leaders needed the support of their staff, this is it.
Unacceptable.

@RogersHistory Me, being Portuguese, I didn’t realise I was swearing when I said during my NQT year “you lot are pissing me off...”
Pin drop silence in the classroom and a parent complaint later, I will not be uttering those words again
Meanwhile, independent schools have had a bumper year of inflated grades, flooding Oxbridge and Russell Group universities no problem. What happened to so-called meritocracy? What about social mobility? Mirror-tocracy and preserving the nobility.
Furthermore, in a recession, why wouldn’t you want to have more qualified graduates coming through the system? Now there’s a generation of young people unable to go to uni or get into courses they want to, and potential for mass unemployment of young people who decided to not go
This country is run by morons. Universities are worried about lost income. Instead of doing what France did and allowing all students to just have their offered places and increasing uni places by 20% thus solving the potential financial hit on unis, we shut them out
Literally all I say as a secondary science teacher:
No, we are not doing a practical.
No, we can’t blow anything up.
No, you won’t die if you drink that.
No, you can’t drink it anyway.
Safety specs go over your eyes not on your forehead!
I want to say a massive well done to all education staff across every school. Huge thank you to my team who have worked nonstop. Hope you all have a well deserved rest. Summer works are now upon us and we look forward to seeing you all September. Thank you for all of the support.
@EdRoundtables Good morning, today I am grateful for it being Sunday without having work to do/worry about, the chance to see my mum and time to rest. #AttitudeofGratitude
All students in year 7-9 are having a face to face check in with their tutor in small groups of 3-4. This is an opportunity to see the school, discuss September and receive your goodie bag! We look forward to seeing you all! @DVAYear7@DVAYear8@DVAYear9
