Ah, the unconditional love of year 1. I'm the best teacher ever, I'm the prettiest teacher ever etc etc... so wholesome. So sweet π₯° only my second day with this bunch and already having a great time.
Had some interesting supply recently. Alongside still working Mon-Wed in a y3 class on long term supply, the past few weeks have also seen me working in a high school doing girl's PE and today I did a half day in a y1 class. Youngest I've ever taught and they were oh so sweet π
Today in y4 we were planning a science experiment to do with how sound travels and how distance affects the volume. We were finishing off writing it up before doing the experiment and I asked them to write a prediction. This one made me giggle. We didn't have time either π€£
An absolutely lovely day with y4 today - Christmas party day, and party we did! 1 day left and then my 4 week stint with them is over... and Christmas holidays are here! I'm really going to miss them π₯²
Had the most wholesome time this afternoon with y4 - Christmas crafts with parents and it was adorable. Spent most of the afternoon helping this child who didn't have an adult come - when he chose the different sized eyes he put them on and laughed for a good 2 mins. So sweet π₯²
Got a few more weeks in high school and then I've been booked for a return visit to a y4 class I've been with before in a school I loved. So I'm now fully booked until Christmas! It's nice knowing what I'll be doing tbh, although the day-to-day stuff is still enjoyable π
Supply update of this half term so far: spent the majority of my time in a high school, mostly covering English and been enjoying myself a lot more than expected!
In my life as a supply teacher today, I taught a child who was ill at home through a literal robot. She could move it around the desk, talk through it, change its eyes, change the colour... it was WILD. Felt like I was living in the future. π
My day with y3 took me to Manchester Aquatics Centre today, right by @Uni_of_MCR. I was immediately taken, not just by the pool and their many diving boards, but by the fun splash-zone at the end!
I may be making a return trip on my own at some point to get some exercise in! πββοΈ
Lunchtime update is that I'm having an AWESOME day on supply today - perhaps joint favourite day since I started supplying in September. It helps having this excellent text to work with, a lovely y3 class of children and being tasked with doing drama in English β€π
An excellent day with y3 today AND I drove home all the way from South Manchester to Prestwich WITHOUT the use of my sat nav! Who is this geographical goddess?
How has your day been today?
Morning Manchester! Today's supply has me journeying to Hulme - the traffic to South Manchester in a morning is often fairly jam-packed, but the long journey times mean I get a good portion of CD listening done in the car.
This morning, 1989 (Taylor's Version) π
So last time I tweeted with you all, I was a y5 teacher in Harpurhey. I'm now on supply, at schools all over the Greater Manchester area!
It has been good getting to know local geography a little better - anyone who knows me knows how little I retain when it comes to maps.
Spent my day yesterday marvelling at the sheer skill of @taylorswift13 at the Eras Tour @vuecinemas. Today I get to continue doing the same, as I was tasked with looking at alliteration in y2 and listening to 'Bad Blood'. Many mini Swifties were created on this day π
A return trip to a y3 class today - children could all remember my name and were excited, which was a proper boost this morning π₯°
One sweet thing that has made me laugh so far: when doing handwriting practice, started this child off with 'ma' and he wrote 'mama I love you' π₯²
