@ACS_science after discussing the impact of pollution, especially in South Wales, I pledge to ride my bike for short trips instead of driving! #CleanAirDay

The fourth book I absolutely loved was ‘Noughts and Crosses,’ by Malorie Blackman. I studied this book in Y9 and loved the narrative. It is a fantastic interpretation of racial discrimination which is done in an extremely thought provoking way! #WorldBookDay
As it is World Book Day this week, I have decided to share some of my favourite books. Some that shaped my interests of literature and some recent reads! #WorldBookDay
My third book is ‘Pride and Prejudice,’ by Jane Austen. In Year 13, I won the Lily Ann Rogers award for progress and endeavours. I had worked extremely hard during my A-Levels in hope of going to study English at @cardiffuni ; my award was this beautiful Barnes and Noble book! 😍
Fantastic choice, Miss Evans! I adored Jacqueline Wilson as a child, in particular the Girls In Love series, which dealt with a teenage girl coming to terms with her sexuality, and of course Tracey Beaker which was also an incredible TV show.
My second reading recommendation is ‘Lola Rose,’ by Jacqueline Wilson. I remember reading this book as a child and I would read it again and again. This book deals with very real and raw themes in a delicate way for young readers #WorldBookDay
The first text (although not a book) is William Shakespeare’s ‘The Tempest.’ This is my earliest memory of reading Shakespeare. The supernatural elements of the narrative were so exciting at 11 years old 🤩 I am still a fan almost 15 years later! #Worldbookday
This week is World Book Day! We are celebrating by giving away 200 free gift bags; each bag contains a book, a World Book Day voucher and a chocolate treat! See poster for more details! 🌎📚 #WorldBookDay#TeamACS

@MissFEvans1 shared her favourite female scientists with us too.... Dr Mae C. Jemison; the first black woman in space! I just love her attitude and her determination. Curiosity may have killed the cat but it is also a key feature of a successful scientist!!
