Fantastic half day training today from @PAPYRUS_tweets, on supporting our young people and preventing young suicide. Thanks to Paul, our trainer! #MentalHealthMatters
I stand for
“my children never give more than a passing glance at anything I’ve put on a display board, even if I stand in front of it, possibly afire, screaming “ITS WRITTEN HERE IN HUGE FONT WITH FLUORESCENT SPEECH BUBBLESARGHDKSKALEIDJ!!!”
When you decorate your classroom, you're making a statement about what you stand for as a teacher, writes Nikki Cunningham-Smith

I found @klariart on a blogpost about “science meets art.” Her work is super because it’s so brightly coloured and accessible for the children to talk about. Also hits that #crosscurricular teaching everyone keeps banging on about.
TA: Steven has 4 apples, and gives...
Child: Who’s Steven?
TA: I don’t know. So he has 4 apples...
Child: Does he like apples?
TA: Yes. So he gives 3 apples to Jane.
Child: Does Jane like apples?
TA: Yes, she does. So how many apples does Steven have left?
Child: I like apples.

We visited #Croydon Airport Museum last weekend and it was fascinating! The UK’s first international airport, apparently. 🚅😊 Also a small yet lovely display about Amy Johnson — the first woman to fly solo from England to Australia. #museums
Unfortunately this week we see how education in England has been reduced to decontextualised datasets. Don’t blame the teachers, they do their best within a hideous system of hyper-accountability #school
