🚨 Piero Hincapié after signing a five-year contract with Arsenal:
“This is a dream come true. Ever since I was a kid, I dreamed of wearing this badge officially, and now it’s finally a reality.
I’ll give everything for this club. Every time I step onto the pitch, I’ll fight for Arsenal with everything I have. If it means leaving everything out there, that’s exactly what I’ll do.
I’m proud to officially belong to the club I supported growing up. It’s an incredible feeling, and I can’t wait to get started and help bring more trophies to Arsenal.
I’m finally home.” ❤️🤍

🚨🎙️ Thierry Henry quote on a Gyökeres–Álvarez swap deal
🗣️ "If you ask me whether Arsenal should swap Viktor Gyökeres for Julian Álvarez, I understand why people are talking about it. Álvarez is one of the most complete forwards in world football today. He can press, create, score, play between the lines and make everyone around him better. I've said before that I really like his game because he can do almost everything a modern number nine is asked to do."
"But football isn't played on paper. Gyökeres gives Arsenal something different — power, presence, aggression and goals. He's the type of striker defenders hate facing. If you're talking about a straight swap, I'd be very careful because you're not just exchanging players, you're changing the identity of your attack.
"Now, if Arsenal somehow ended up with Álvarez, every fan would be excited because he's a world-class talent. But my question would be: why give away a striker who has already proven he can lead the line for you? Great teams don't always replace quality with quality; sometimes they add quality to quality.
"For me, the dream scenario would be finding a way to have players of that level in the same squad. That's how title-winning teams become dynasty teams. If I were Arteta, I'd think long and hard before letting Gyökeres leave, even for a player as special as Álvarez."
Ian Wright on Arsenal being linked with Julián Álvarez despite having Viktor Gyökeres:
🗣️ “I'll be honest, I don't understand it. What exactly do Arsenal want Julián Álvarez for when you've already got Viktor Gyökeres leading the line and firing you to a league title?”
“Football clubs spend years searching for a striker who can carry the pressure, deliver goals every week, and make the difference in the biggest moments. If Gyökeres has just done that and helped bring the league back to Arsenal, why are we suddenly acting like he's not enough?”
“Álvarez is a fantastic player, don't get me wrong. I'd take him in almost any team in the world. But we're talking about a player whose value is through the roof. Do people seriously think his club are going to let him leave for a normal fee?”
“If Arsenal knock on the door for Álvarez, the first thing they'll hear is a number so big it might make them hang up the phone. We're talking about one of the most complete forwards in world football.”
“In today's market, if you're trying to take a player like that away from a top club, you might as well be preparing a bid worth €500 million because that's how impossible the deal feels.”
“Sometimes football fans become obsessed with collecting stars instead of asking what the team actually needs. Arsenal don't need another headline. They need to trust the striker who is already delivering for them.”
“If Gyökeres has just won you the league and is scoring goals for fun, then surely the priority should be building around him, not spending a fortune chasing another superstar.”
“From where I'm sitting, Arsenal should be celebrating the striker they've got... because chasing Álvarez right now feels like trying to fix something that isn't broken.”
I am wondering how Gyökeres is feeling right now, he sacrificed everything in his life to come to Arsenal (took a pay cut, broke up with his girlfriend and all)
In his first season at Arsenal, he scored the highest goals in the team and helped the team win their first premier league in 22 years and despite the team being very defensive he was able to grind out 21 goals in all competitions.
He is having a good world cup campaign after qualifying his team for the world cup, he then comes online and sees his fanbase twerking for a Julian Alvarez that has less goals than him, a guy who is known to be very disloyal, he forced his way out of Manchester City and also doing same and would likely do same in his future club..
In a team that has players like Gabriel Martinelli, Trossard, Ødegaard, Jesus and even Nwaneri, the first instinct of the fanbase is to sell a guy who was their highest scorer last season.
Julian Alvarez who didn't score for good 13-14 weeks and who is publicly twerking for Barcelona and might only consider Arsenal as a second option is who Arsenal fans, a guy who can't even bench Lautaro Martínez in the Argentina team, THIS IS SAD.
