Hydrogen hypercars category at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2030 💦

Hydrogen mobility was in evidence at the #6HFuji: while a #hydrogen bus accompanied the race cars during the Safari Tour, with Kazuki Nakajima acting as « guide », the fan zone featured a stand dedicated to hydrogen racing, showcasing MissionH24’s H24EVO and the Toyota TR LH2 Racing Prototype.

A hydrogen-powered Toyota Crown, a model highly popular in Japan, also took part in the Safari Tour and the pre-race parade lap.

A new milestone has been reached with an agreement between @ToyotaRacingWEC and MissionH24 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐥𝐲 𝐚 𝐡𝐲𝐝𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐞𝐧 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐛𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐇𝟐𝟒𝐄𝐕𝐎.

The H24EVO will soon undergo its first tests, equipped with a combustion engine and tanks storing liquid #hydrogen.

TOYOTA RACING is providing MissionH24 with a hydrogen combustion engine to be integrated into its third racing car prototype, the H24EVO.

The powertrain is based on a 𝟑.𝟓-𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐕𝟔 𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐞 developed by @ToyotaRacingWEC specifically for motorsport.

"Now, we want to demonstrate that a #hydrogen prototype can perform just as well as a fossil-fuel-powered one. MissionH24 is a pioneer in the hydrogen category, as we are working to overcome many of the hurdles associated with this new technology. We are collaborating with the @fia and the ACO to establish the regulatory framework for the hydrogen class, particularly regarding safety and refueling. We have crucial technical data to provide in preparation for this future category."
