I think the Royals look to Clay County. I don’t believe Sherman wants to leave KC. He’s from here as are most of the ownership group.

@squadtsf @ArrowheadLive Not as much as having the ability to host large scale events such as a Final Fout would. That would bring millions of dollars of out of state money for hotels, restaurants, bars, retail, etc. Those are the economic benefits I’m referring to.

The proposals were not good, the Royals couldn’t provide the county with a location until last minute and then made changes that would’ve greatly affected the new stadium 4 days before the vote. Better proposals could keep them.

@ArrowheadLive @shaynesdad2012 What are the taxpayers getting out of the stadiums now? At least the Royals proposed new stadium would’ve brought an increase in economic benefit to downtown KC. The Chiefs offered no additional economic benefit to the county.

@ArrowheadLive @shaynesdad2012 Why does that have to be Jackson County who’ve been paying for the teams for 50 years? The teams could move to another part of the metro where there are greater opportunities for economic development around the stadiums. They don’t need to stay together either.

@CaseyLibraryCat @ArrowheadLive I moved to Jackson County to close to the vote date to be registered in time to vote. I would’ve voted yes on a well thought out proposal that would’ve provided economic benefits to the county, such as a roof on the stadium that would attract other events.

@ArrowheadLive @shaynesdad2012 Jackson County and the teams have failed to develop that area in the 50 years the stadiums have been there. Keeping the teams there or even just the Chiefs won’t change that. The Chiefs and Royals have shown no interest in developing that area.

@shaynesdad2012 @ArrowheadLive The Chiefs proposed renovations this time around could’ve included a roof and not been something that was specifically put on the voters to approve. They could’ve just asked for financing for renovations and said they were including a roof in the renovations.

@shaynesdad2012 @ArrowheadLive Yes, it was 2 separate questions for funding Kauffman renovations and splitting sales tax equally between the teams and a roof for both stadiums. Sales tax and renovations were approved and roof was not.
