@MrBoothY6 In my year 6 class, we are reading Windrush Child for our English text, it's the quietest part of the day when I am reading that aloud. Just read the prologue and authors notes first.
@DeputyGrocott Teaching is a rollercoaster, sometimes your cruising, sometimes it's outstanding and sometimes it drags you along the floor behind it. So far, I wouldn't change it haha
@MissMorg05@MrTs_NQTs I would do - recap grammar and short activity, then input with poem, model task, then circulate while the children work. Don't forget how you scaffold it up and down. You've got this!
@MissMorg05@MrTs_NQTs I did mine a few years back with a year 5 class. I looked at what had already been covered and picked a grammar focus, then you can go in with a level that they understand. Then I chose a poem to focus on with the grammar focus in it. Try and chunk it into 10 min sections.
@farmgirlwriter @NosyCrow This would be a great way to start the new school year and in my school this could help 2 classes because we do 1 between 2 for reading. What a way to get a buzz going about a book if 2 classes are reading it at the same time π
@_borntosparkle I was running a bath last night for 5 minutes, getting really annoyed because the bath wasn't filling up. Then I realised I hadn't put the plug in! There may have been a few choice words π₯±π
@nombreneeded @_MissieBee I felt like this was completely unfair. The multi steps that a child would need to know to complete this are too many. It's worded in a way that's meant to trip them up. What an unfair question!
