@MrStirlingMaths @Teachers4Perm @FifeCouncil Bad experience here too. Interviewed, heard nothing for ages, then got a call offering a job. I had to ask for details of what was being offered, then they were really quite rude when I rejected their part-time temporary offer because I had secured a full-time one elsewhere 🤷🏻‍♀️

@JNaplesCampbell of the extra subjects on their timetable and they then technically enter a probation period with the GTCS. Complete enough hours and satisfactory observations, they can get fully registered 👍🏻

@JNaplesCampbell I’m a Geo/Mods/Psychology qualified. Only came into teaching with the Geo PGDE though. You might find some staff aren’t registered with a subject but have enough credits from uni modules to teach others. That’s just a case of giving them enough… (1/2)

Khareef season in Salalah, Oman. When a small area of the desert turns green, temperatures drop, wind blows, rain falls, and everyone goes out to play! Worth every minute of the 14 hour drive from Dubai. What a sight! 😍

1 academic year in Dubai🇦🇪 done and and 10 school years in total completed! What a whirlwind it has been! Now for 6 weeks of chill before we do it all over again.

@Mr_Minchin @primarypercival I am not confident at all in front of other staff (though I have done it and continue to do so by pushing myself in order to develop) but give me 30 teenagers to teach coastal erosion and I’m like a different person.

@Mr_Minchin @primarypercival approachable than a louder individual for some students/parents. All it means is that my “down time” usually involves some peace and quiet to re-charge and be ready to “perform” in class the next day. (2/2)

@Mr_Minchin @primarypercival Yeah I 100% agree and have seen student teachers come in and have had to have difficult conversations with them about whether it is the right career path for them. My point was that not all introverts are incapable of demonstrating confidence and being effective teachers.

@susfloos @Mr_Minchin @primarypercival @susfloos Exactly. I have never once felt or been told that the classroom is not the right place for me. And I’m sure there are plenty of extroverts who would crumble at the demands of a classroom environment. There’s no one “type” for teaching, it’s all down to individuals.
