@NickFruscello @PGHtransit@PghTransitCare These changes have turned my 50 minute commute into 1.5 hrs. I have been turned away from my bus to Oakland 2 times this week because it’s too full for me to board. So crowded. I chose to try to take an earlier trip hoping, leaving 1/2 hr earlier than I was, still not on time.
Why is it again that I can pay a parking ticket online, apply for a passport and conduct personal financial transactions but I can’t vote the same way?
It’s really hitting right now me how many people have fucking died of COVID, of lack of healthcare, of violence, of racism, and on and on because we’ve managed to make “giving a shit about other people” a political question
Our hospital floor is full and we need open beds for the imminent COVID surge.
But multiple patients of mine can’t leave the hospital because they’re awaiting prior auths from commercial insurers.
Insurance companies are clogging up the system in the middle of a damn pandemic.
This is the scene at O’Hare airport. The traveler who took the photo said it’s a 6-hour wait for bags then on to customs for 2-4 more of waiting in shoulder-to-shoulder crowds. Police are handing out water and disinfectant wipes. @fly2ohare#ord#coronavirus#COVID19
A friend of mine said this today:
“Privilege is the difference between disruption and devastation. I refuse to complain.”
Schools closing. Meetings cancelled. All nothing compared to livelihoods threatened. Dang. Perspective is a mighty thing.

I was walking into Grady one day after lunch and saw 3 young black men standing outside near the entrance. They were laughing and talking in animated voices. The easy, melodic African American vernacular they used was familiar. Some profanity was interspersed.
I drew closer.
