Today marks the start of new content in my #studentteaching online classroom using #loom! #USinWWI Can't wait to explore new ways to teach our students with @MrDunsavage !
It's crazy to think that 50 days ago I started student teaching! Each day I work to build student relationships, grow in content, and push myself in new ways as a teacher. Special thanks to @MrDunsavage for being a wonderful co-op, and for supporting me on this journey! #day1📸
Hi Mrs. Butterfield Jones and thank you for speaking tonight! As a future Social Studies educator, your negative experience with a guidance counselor frustrated me to no end. Do you have any tips for best advocating for and encouraging my students? #EtownLeffler#SSEDMethods
The partnership mentioned positively displays Banks' 5 Dimensions at work, especially #3: Equity Pedagogy with college students tutoring and enabling students to achieve. In Banks' words, in order to teach equitably, "we need to know, to care, and to act" #edchat#SSEDMETHODS
Great @HMHCo interview with @DrNelms about how his school formed a beneficial partnership with a local university—and why it’s important to clearly define what #equity looks like in your school community: https://t.co/ET9Ucy5k4E #EdEquity#EdChat
@twitmer2021 Given the grade band we teach, I hope being honest with them and giving their opinions our respect as teachers will go a long way. Telling them at the start that their beliefs will be tolerated as long as they tolerate the beliefs of their peers should start meaningful convos.
@twitmer2021 That's a solid goal, how can we expect students to really learn if they don't feel comfortable in class?
What was the most effective way a teacher made you feel comfortable in their class?
@InglisRichard1 I think the basis of any good learning environment is clear communication! Setting classroom rules for proper behavior during discussions/debates is essential; both for an open space to confidently formulate opinions and back them up as well as support #DanielsonDomain2
@InglisRichard1@InglisRichard1 This is such an important part of being a SS teacher! What sorts of activities do you plan to inplement to encourage the formation of your students' individual beliefs?
Teaching sensitive topics is hard for everyone, but they must be addressed. Without discussions, lessons, or reflections how will our classes learn about tragedy, perseverance, and strength? It's our job to make sure they #NeverForget https://t.co/GiA4WrX5ho

It’s been 12 hours of labour but couldn’t wait to show my new babies to the world! Thank you to my patient boyfriend who was lucky enough to be off work for this occasion #displays#geographyclassroom#labouroflove#illputhemonTES
