probably the 800th person to say this but when u look at the ggum pics—>no labels part 1—>no labels part 2 u can literally see him eroding into the soft sided yeonjun We As Moas know like ggum’s style was edgy, nlp1 was editorial, nlp2 is just yeonjun as he is
I'd like to clarify the word "sexy" in the context of the Korean language/culture.
Yes, when you go to the Korean dictionary and search up the term, you'll get the definition "sexual attraction".
However, the term is commonly used among Koreans outside of its literal definition +
"Sexy" is a common reaction word used to describe many things without indicating sexual attraction.
For example, we use "뇌섹남" (sexy brain) to describe someone smart.
"요섹남" (sexy while cooking) is a compliment for calling them cool when cooking.
We use word "sexy" to call something "cool", "handsome", and "attractive", even to things like food, designs, and anything that is just impressive or aesthetically pleasing.
Yes, it's also used to call someone "sexually attractive", but context behind the use matters most.
I haven't seen a single Korean, MOA or not, who found YJ problematic for using the word. He was clearly using it as a way to compliment Yoojun.
Kmoas haven't spoken up about this because we don't understand why the word would be a problem. This whole fuss just seems ridiculous.
"YJ is fluent in English, he knows what it means"
Koreans know what it means as well. It's not the literal definition we're trying to defend. It's the cultural context; "sexy" is now just used as internet slang to show your liking of something.
All in all, I hope people stop labeling out-of-context behaviors as "problematic" without considering the linguistic and cultural context behind them.
Even if you're fluent in the language, unless you know the cultural context, you can't "call out" something.
Yo sigo pensando en cómo Drew dijo que ya iba a tener su máquina de coser y que iba a empezar a agregarle cosas a la ropa de todos los bravitos 😭💖también quiere que hagan un tutorial para nosotras, para tener ropa parecida a ellos
