Deaf students are extraordinarily knowledgeable. One of the most important jobs for deaf educators is to 'hold up a mirror' so that the students appreciate their own self worth and come to acknowledge that they, themselves, are legitimate, worthy knowers.

Parents, using technology as a “free babysitting service” is, in fact, not free at all. The latest research says we pay with our kids’ development, speech delays, with their attention, and with their mental health. Not having limits IS neglectful parenting. #KidsAreAddicted

This year's job fairs in Colorado and beyond were noticeably lower in teacher candidates per our admin and interview teams. It's alarming.

Or the scene with the headphones in the basements, it would have been incredible to have a subtitle explaining that *music plays* so they at least know the context of the scene, otherwise everything is silent when that isn’t the case @johnkrasinski #aquietplace

I LOVE “A Quiet Place” but watching with my Deaf parents brought it to my attention that the movie is not well subtitled for Deaf people. They don’t know when the loud sounds are happening or why there is panic 🙁 @johnkrasinski

Here we go again! My kids wanted to see a movie on the big screen, we gave in. Only 1 captioning device available. My husband, daughter, and I ended up sharing. The last 30 minutes, captions went missing. #accessibilityforall #opencaptionsnow #fail
