@brunanedt370 just had an interview last week where the principal asked if I took your class! Also got to drop some great tech ideas thanks to what I learned in EDT 370!
The Longest Walk arrived in Washington, D.C. #OTD in 1978. American Indian activists marched over 3,000 miles to the capital to protest a growing number of bills before Congress that threatened to repeal treaties and restrict American Indian rights. https://t.co/515EHag8x7

Separating kids from their parents is cruel. I’ve been briefly separated from my parents and it was the scariest time of my life. Not being able to ask them if everything will be ok, not knowing if they’re okay. This is evil. We can do better.
Just taught “Night” this semester and it was so real for my students, many of whom have been personally affected by ICE and have lose friends and family members. They were angry and empowered by Wiesel’s words. https://t.co/XKMLvcvJ4Q
When I teach “Night” kids are horrified at the concept of creating concentration camps in order to control and destroy a race of people.
I would tell them that each time this concept resurfaces, be prepared to speak out and fight for others.
Kids, now is the time.
LADIES imagine this,
its 15 years from now. your son is up to bat. your daughter is cheering him on in the stands. your husband is nowhere to be found, you start to worry he’ll miss the game. suddenly, a tiny red convertible pulls up on the field. its your husband, Stuart Little
Activists have placed 7,000 pairs of children's shoes outside the Capitol Building to commemorate the 7,000 children killed by guns since Sandy Hook. #NeverAgain#March4OurLives
Activism is not supposed to be easy. In taking a stand, you don't allow others to change your narrative. You think of all sides, you plan carefully, and hear others, but you don't lose your voice. Once you allow that to happen, your movement dies.
I understand it comes from a good place when people say ‘just ignore it’. We get nowhere by shutting up and putting up. ‘Ignore it and it will go away’, that’s what all the teachers said. No it won’t. I won’t shut up. I won’t put up and no I will not ignore it!
