@Adeg17267926 @tes @bphillipsonMP Many work from home on days off to get the full leadership role done. Lots of TLR holders are .8 so are in for 4 days. This is discriminatory. If the government want to support flexible working they need to recognise this issue and make schools pay part time leaders fairly.

So I spoke live on @gbnews this morning about the new CQC report on maternity care safety. Am I surprised that maternity care is deemed unsafe? Sadly, no. 😔

The report highlights critical issues:

1️⃣ Safety concerns are widespread in maternity units
2️⃣ There’s a lack of learning from incidents
3️⃣ Inequalities persist, especially for Black and minority ethnic women
4️⃣ Many units are not fit for purpose, lacking essential equipment and space

No, poverty isn’t the reason why Black women are disproportionately affected. Poverty is not synonymous with Black women’s poor outcomes in maternity care. Racism is. Lack of culturally competent care is.

How many more reports must say the same thing before we see real change?
