“The biggest wall you have to climb is the one you build in your mind: Never let your mind talk you out of your dreams, trick you into giving up. Never let your mind become the greatest obstacle to success. Get your mind on the right track, the rest will follow.” ~ Roy T. Bennett
I'm making up for the Christmas lunch at Mom's house where Muroho wasn't served. This is the last stash of mukusule my mother gave me. Enjoy @tmasebe 😊
When a woman has been raped, she owes nobody a timeline of when to speak out about it, or to speak out at all. Most of the men who question women who speak out must go speak to their mothers, they will be shocked to know the truth of how many choose to keep silent.
Failure or refusal to believe any woman who claims she was raped is a reflection on you, your unwillingness to accept what is rape and refusal to change the social norm.
Not believing a woman who says she was raped by her father, brother, husband, boyfriend is the norm. It does not discount the survivor's story. And a man can be successful, nice to you and still rape someone else. Not rocket science.
