WE'RE OFF TO SEE THE DENTIST -- Our students had a wonderful time at the @HarperCollege Dental Hygiene Clinic today! To prepare for our trip, we read "Mya Papaya Meets the Wizard of Teeth." There's no place like the dentist! 🌈🦷 @NSSEO_org@TimberRidgeEdu
COPING CLOUDS -- Follow the rainbow back to the green zone! We spent the morning reviewing our coping strategies with Howard B. Wigglebottom. He reminded us that "it's okay to back away" if we're feeling upset, angry, or sad. @TimberRidgeEdu@NSSEO_org
#tbt - After reading "The Good Egg," we decided that our favorite character is "other Frank." 😂We compared each books' main characters and identified who made red and green choices at the beginning of each text. @NSSEO_org@TimberRidgeEdu@IamJoryJohn
BAKING UP A GOOD FRIEND - We spent the morning talking about what "ingredients" it takes to be a good friend. We started building our chain of friendship, earned "brag tags" for being terrific friends, and practiced greeting our friends with high-five and handshakes! @NSSEO_org
SOARING INTO SYMBOLS - We learned about important American symbols using #scholasticnews. Did you know that our leaders chose the bald eagle as an American symbol because it stands for freedom, strength, and long life? #americasbird@NSSEO_org@TimberRidgeEdu
Students loved the new addition to word work this morning: fall themed sight word puzzles! They were able to complete independently and had fun, too. @NSSEO_org@TimberRidgeEdu
Room 100 is full of imaginative engineers! Students constructed robots, towers, and necklaces with their #stembins - I can't wait to see what's next. @NSSEO_org@TimberRidgeEdu
After reading "Chrysanthemum," we tested our new glue sponges. Students practiced fine motor skills by cutting and pasting tissue paper in the shape of their "absolutely perfect" names! Tomorrow, we will retell the story with our Chrysanthemum puppets! @NSSEO_org@TimberRidgeEdu
Students used @Wikkistix to construct their sight words. I love seeing students so excited about morning work! Most requested after finishing: "Can I wash my hands?" and "Take a picture! I want to show my mom." @NSSEO_org@TimberRidgeEdu
