Day 3 - Lama Temple 雍和宫 and visit to a Beijing 101 Middle School 🇨🇳 local school visits are always my favourite part, so special to see students practicing language skills in real life and going out their comfort zone! Proud teacher 🤩

Day 2 - The Great Wall of China 长城 and the National Stadium 鸟巢 🇨🇳

@CastlebraeCCC Beijing 2024 🇨🇳Arrived last night and spent today exploring Beijing’s ancient centre - Hutong’s 南锣鼓巷 and the lake 后海! What an unbelievable opportunity for these young people thanks to @SwireCentreEdin funding and donations from @JMATrust and @DniproKids 🤩

HUGE achievement tonight seeing Amna winning the #SarojLalAward in her category “How Prejudice Makes Me Feel”. 👏🏻⭐️ Amna wrote a very moving essay as part of our AH course in Spanish and was recognised for her resilience and pride of her identity @Castlebrae_CC

What an adventure 🤩 Thank you to The Learning Adventure for helping us make it a great trip! So proud of the 18 young people for overcoming challenges, adapting to culture differences and always being respectful of the locals! An unbelievable opportunity 🇹🇼

Day 7 - final day of the trip �� hiked up to Tiger Mountain for some great views of the city. Afternoon spent in Ximending where we were all throughly soaked through by the rain!

In the afternoon we visited the tallest building in Taipei - Taipei 101! Evening spent in Raohe Night Market 🏮

Day 7 - back in Taipei for our penultimate day we spent the morning in the National Museum. Then we went down to the river to take in the Dragon Boat festivities!

Day 6 - in Taizhong we visited a local market in the morning then two Confucius temples, including the giant golden Buddha!

Day 5 - Xizi bay, lotus pond and the Dragon and Tiger Pagodas. Finished the day with a 火锅 hot pot dinner!

Bumped in to a friendly face today! Fraser studied AH Mandarin at school and is going into 2nd year @StAndrewsUniv studying Chinese and Business. He is spending 3 months in Taiwan progressing his 中文! Ex pupil of @BroughtonML, he says hello 👋🏻

Day 4 - Journey down to the city of Tainan, my favourite place in Taiwan! Visit to a local middle school, so special seeing all the students interacting and making friends! Thank you to Jhongsiao Junior High for hosting 😊 @CastlebraeCCC @TynecastleHigh @SwireCentreEdin

Day 3 - morning spent at the Geopark, then a trip to the ancient mountain village of Jui Fen. One of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen!
