Primary 1W had a very special visitor in Mrs Boyd today. She introduced us to the story of Noah and the Ark and a fantastic song to accompany it. Mrs Wishart was so impressed at the pupils understanding of the moral of the story….to show kindness to all 🌈 🚤 🕊
@MacaulayMiss@MurrayfieldELC@wlmurrayfieldps Can’t thank you enough helping me starting in P1 and for everything you’ve done for our children. You’ll be sorely missed in Murrayfield xx
This week pupils in P1W have continued to consolidate their understanding of subtraction using a variety of practical materials. Working together to create number lines the children have then ‘counted back’ to solve some tricky calculations.
Recently P1W had a fantastic session with Mrs McIvor from @murrayfieldlc working on oral segmenting (listening for first, middle and last sounds in words) and tracking (in which we change one of the sounds to make a new word).
@Tesco delivery cancelled by yourself at 11.54am for a 12-4 slot…..only reason in email was ‘something went wrong’. Not really an explanation is it? Also so late in the day means I’ve now to stop doing my own work to go to a shop. Disappointing service
Had a fantastic time during the trusted adult event today with a brilliant group of pupils. After making melting snowman biscuits we settled down to watch ‘The Snowman’ whilst eating our sweet treats! ⛄️ @wlmurrayfieldps
P1W were SO excited to open our special book advent calendar which has many of our favourite characters! We will each keep a book and add the rest of the books to our class library! #murrayfieldreads
P1W had a lovely morning with the @MurrayfieldELC boys and girls to take part in #childreninneed activities. It was lovely to see children reunited with friends and showing me their old nursery. #makingmemories
This afternoon P1W and P1MS invited their adults from home to discover how they enjoy learning to read within the classroom. The boys and girls were so excited to show off the different resources and activities with their families #parentalengagement@wl_literacy
Today in our Oral Narrative session with @MissA786 we have focussed on learning about the ‘where’ in a story. We worked together to decide where we would find different objects in different settings. There was lots of fantastic discussion from all the pupils!
This week in our Oral Narrative session with @MissA786 P1W continued to work on describing the ‘who’ in stories. We were able to use key words to help describe our person or animal and asked our friends to guess from our descriptions. @wl_literacy
