#VoicemailsForIsabelle proves that, just as he did in Love, Simon; Nick Robinson is completely in his element when it comes to romantic comedies. The opening minutes are surprisingly emotional and genuinely tear-jerking, setting the stage for a sweet and heartfelt story.
#PowerBallad is further elevated by its incredibly catchy soundtrack. It would be amazing to see "How to Write a Song Without You" earn an Oscar nomination next year alongside "I Knew It, I Knew You", and even more exciting to watch both songs performed live on stage.
#PowerBallad teaches us that we should never give up on our dreams, even when we feel we've passed our prime, because you never know when life might finally take a turn for the better, and bring the opportunity you've been waiting for your whole life.
Paul Rudd delivers a profound performance in #PowerBallad, while Nick Jonas is effortlessly charismatic, much like his character. Jack Reynor also shines, perfectly capturing the arrogance of the jerky Mac. I loved the friendship between Rick and Sandy.
thanks to their distinct fighting styles. Fast, energetic, and unforgiving, the action in #TheFurious never lets up. If anything, these fight sequences should be the standard that all action movies aspire to.
While the story in #TheFurious is fairly generic, it makes up for it with exactly what audiences come to the theater to see. The fight scenes are superbly choreographed, with the five main cast members (Xie Miao, Joe Taslim, Yayan Ruhian, Joey Iwanaga, and Brian Le) standing out
#ToyStory5 may not have a story as strong as Toy Story 3, which remains the best film in the franchise, or even Toy Story 4, but it’s still a solid sequel that managed to make my eyes well up at times. The film carries a timely message, one that parents shouldn’t ignore,
#ScaryMovie 1 and Scary Movie 3 had stronger stories and sharper humor. Still, this 6th installment does deliver a peachy ending. In the end, this franchise still belongs to Anna Faris, Regina Hall, Marlon Wayans, and Shawn Wayans.
The opening scene of #ScaryMovie isn’t nearly as effective as the iconic Carmen Electra opening kill from the first film, and from that moment on, it already hints at what the rest of the movie will be like.
While the return of the original cast in #ScaryMovie is undeniably nostalgic, and they remain the movie’s greatest strength, many of the jokes feel dated. There are a few chuckles here and there, but not enough to make the comedy truly memorable.
Even though the third act of #Backrooms feels a bit loose, I have to admit that the jump scares are incredibly effective and deliver some genuine thrills.
What an engaging performance by Chiwetel Ejiofor in #Backrooms. As Clark, he gradually unravels the mystery of the yellow rooms, making the first and second acts both mysterious and captivating.
The first half of #DisclosureDay is intriguing and full of promise, but the second half doesn’t quite deliver, and the ending leaves the entire experience feeling unfinished. The film’s strongest asset is Emily Blunt, who carries the story with a compelling performance.
#DisclosureDay would have been a groundbreaking and shocking alien movie in the ’90s or early 2000s, but after watching films and series like Arrival, The Expanse, and this year’s Project Hail Mary, it feels somewhat outdated.
#MastersOfTheUniverse isn’t my cup of tea. It’s overly silly, and the weak script, combined with numerous plot holes, makes it difficult to get invested in the story. However, Camila Mendes is a standout, she really captures the spirit of Teela.
#NobodyLovesKay is a deeply uplifting, motivational, and highly relatable film, very much in the same spirit as Laskar Pelangi. It’s about chasing your dreams when life, and seemingly everyone around you, feels determined to stand in your way.
Rey Bong, Dewa Dayana, Aryo Wahab, and Elly D. Luthan. The conversation between Kay and Abel in #NobodyLovesKay is impactful and should be required viewing for parents and teachers who still see the world through a rigid, conventional lens.
