Fontaines DC will no doubt dominate the album releases this week - and maybe rightly so, but worth checking out is the debut release from CUSP. A great British indie band whose influences stretch from The Verve, Catfish and Springsteen.

Lemonheads live at Albert Hall, Manchester for me tonight. A bucket list band for me to see live.
The Albert Hall is the perfect venue for some 90s grunge.
September saw releases from Echo & the Bunnymen, Keo and Gurriers. October looks even more seismic:
Johnny Marr — 2nd
Blossoms — 2nd
Meryl Streek — 9th
Dylan John Thomas — 9th
Fontaines — 16th
Snuts — 23rd
Editors — 30th
British & Irish guitar music in a great place right now.
beabadoobee secured another number one album release with Pylon last week. Keo might claim her top spot this week with their debut release.
Pylon worthy of that chart-topping place last week though.

One album on my repeat list this month has been the debut release from Westside Cowboy. Their debut is a wonderfully harmonic yet chaotic dance through a retrospective lens of looking back.

Echo and The Bunnymen released Apples For Isaac last week and, after a week of listening, I can defiantly state that it’s a joy. A work of hope, shades of darkness, typically brilliant guitar work from Seargent, and McCulloch at his raspy, cryptic best.
Their best in a long time
Huge day for Dublin #postpunk scene with latest Gurriers release.
Getting my first listen now and it’s massive. Could elevate this band higher than the most obvious comparisons.

Returning with her fourth album release @beabad00bee shifts back to her grunge-tilted influences. Pylon is a bolder, guitar-heavy release. The most endearing element is the biographical nature of an angsty 20-something making sense of complicated love.

First full listen of the debut deary album and it’s every bit as good as it promised to be.
Reminiscent of Engineers debut and with solid rhythm foundations over soaring guitars and luscious, breathy vocals from Dottie Cockram.
Standouts for me include Blue Ribbon & Alma
Tomorrow’s a solid day for record releases.
Gus Englehorn, Lone Assembly and Gorillaz all dropping on the same Friday - perfect!
Which way are you leaning?
What’s missing?
Lone Assembly
Slow-burn postpunk that’s big on atmosphere, small on ego. Guitars, space, and a lot of unsaid things hanging in the gaps. Even better on the back of the IST IST Release.
