So where do we stand on @MarathonTheGame? Idk we playing @Titanfallgame
Marathon has a lot of potential, and as much as we like it. It is too slow paced to actually play as a causal, between matchmaking times and ended by sweats 3 minutes into a 25 min match you dont really play
We are taking a break from @MarathonTheGame why? Well the PvE is so much fun and really challenging, but the sweaty PvP is just not it.
Did Cyro Archive (game doesnt explain what to do) but the PvE was so much fun.
We will be back when the game settles on what it wants to be.
After April 1st I feel like there should be a legal disclaimer that is posted to every April 1st joke post. Cause I am getting all of yesterday’s posts on my feed and it’s exhausting to fact check these all to see if they are real or not…
To answer some questions people are asking: i am saying in this current state of #marathon it is not a solo game.
Bungie can totally improve it like Cyberpunk 2077 did. But rn the culture of marathon is not great, and the game is super sweaty for solos to survive/ have fun
Apparently this is gold:
@MarathonTheGame is a Tactical Team game, if you don’t get good random players or have two friends to play with, you are going to struggle.
So if you dont have two friends who want to buy the game with you, DONT BUY IT. It is not fun solo.
Idk @LEGO_Group smart bricks is kind of shifting away from the whole imagination aspect of lego. I would rather have more bricks to build than one smart brick.
I can make my own sounds with my mouth just fine. Maybe cool for a MOC? But not so much play…
@isolatedrook Yes and no, the time it takes to use it paired with the animation to stand up after it is completed nerfs this as is. In a firefight, unless you can really crawl away from the action and break line of sight, you are dead on revive.
Hey all!
We are in the process of developing our own game, sci-fi shooter game.
Why? Nothing on the market really satisfies us… So we are going to make a game that tries to take us back to what we love.
Follow Project Gambit over at @RookintheMist
Our team started in Godot but it looks like we may be transferring to Unreal Engine as it solves a few of our main bug issues we have encountered in early development. Here is a sneak peak of early dev work.
Is it a good game?
@MarathonTheGame is a okay game not a good game. It is lacking a lot of the og motivation for fighting/playing. No real story to engage with. Super sweaty, pushed by the game. Not friendly to new players.
Hope this game turns around.
@solgob_ Add aliens the core of the classic marathon. It will draw people in. Marathon was the precursor to Halo. I think if they give players more of a reason why their PC is there, add aliens to fight it will draw more people in.
Marathon Review:
Graphics 6/10 (a bit busy)
Gameplay 7/10
Sound 5/10
Story 3/10
Solo 1/10
Teamplay 7/10
Skill vs Gear: 25/75
Buy?: Wait for a sale or future update
Fun core but heavily gear‑weighted and rough for solo players. Content gatekept behind grinding quests and puzzles.
I have put it together. @HuntShowdown is better than @MarathonTheGame because no matter if your hunter is level 1 or level 50 all have the same chance to take each other out. Traits give an edge but Marathon’s loadouts stack high levels gear impossibly above a “free” loadout.
The best announcement this year is from @NathanFillion#GOAT and the cast for #Firefly bringing the series back in an animated format.
They had been hinting on social media for a while but it is good to have it confirmed.
Would I like live action? Yes. But this is fantastic.
In marathon when i hop in with a random crew we all have such different contracts that you cant do them all.
Hunt has multiple simple contracts like kill x number of these.
Marathon is not collaborative, unless you are playing with friends or have the same contracts.
#fixit
After 12.2 hours in the game (causal gamer) if I am going to pick up an extraction shooter I am going with @HuntShowdown over @MarathonTheGame
Marathon is not solo friendly & such a grind. Hunt is solo friendly w/ a simple loadout, get the guns you want and jump in. 1/2
Well we caved and bought @MarathonTheGame and it is mixed feelings.
Pros:
Fun atmosphere
Hints of og lore
Good gunplay
Fun with friends
Cons:
A grind
Only one contract per run
Map locked behind a community extraction goal
It is a good game, we just want more og marathon in it.
