🚨 RANT BELOW 🚨

First things first, I LOVE how the Cowboys have operated this year. They’re running a tight ship. If you’re not meeting the standard or don’t fit the scheme, they’re moving on. They’ve been aggressive building this roster, and I’ve agreed with a lot of what they’ve done.

But releasing Joe Milton is the first move I completely disagree with.

We literally TRADED for Milton just last offseason, giving up a draft pick to get him… and now, one year later, we’re releasing him AFTER he just had his best preseason?

I’ll admit it: Milton struggled last season. The accuracy and confidence weren’t there, and he looked extremely raw. Honestly, I would’ve understood releasing him then more than I do now.

Because this preseason? He looked like a completely different QB.

He looked confident inside and outside the pocket, his short-game accuracy improved, he made plays with his legs, and we already know about the absolute CANNON he has. It finally looked like everything was starting to come together.

And NOW we let him go?

I understand the Cowboys may believe Sam Howell gives them a higher floor, and Howell is younger. But Milton’s ceiling is exactly why I don’t understand this move.

You traded for him, spent a year developing him, watched him make real progress… and then cut him right when it looked like he was turning the corner.

I just don’t get it. Easily my least favorite Cowboys move of the offseason.
