the day john waters passes (hopefully not for a long time), terminally online queers will be frothing at the mouth writing thinkpieces about how he was problematic because there are evil queer people in his movies
The people who decry Rocky Horror for being "transphobic" do the exact same for The Kinks' Lola. Fucking annoying media illiterate people just trying to look so cool and show everyone how woke they really are.
It was hard enough losing Dolly yesterday. ☹️ And now, we cry a sea of black tears for our very own Doviculus: The irreplaceable Tim Curry.
May these beloved legends rest well, as we carry their spirit forward~

Dolly Parton was the patron saint of good gays, who fall in love, adopt kids, and see beauty in everything.
Tim Curry was the patron saint of evil bisexuals like me, who love oil and grime, scary clowns, and communism.
Rocky Horror changed my life as a 13 year old in the midwest. I've seen it countless times since. But on recent watches, I find myself in constant tears by what Tim Curry does with I'm Going Home; as if it's brand new to me. One of the most beautiful performances ever captured.
my grief over dolly and tim curry is absolutely parasocial but you can't understate the impact that both of those people had for queer people, for women, for people who have always had "weird" interests and big personalities, they were icons for anyone strange
“'Cause I've seen, oh, blue skies through the tears
In my eyes
And I realise, I'm going home”
Rest in peace, Tim Curry. Thank you for making our hearts race over and over again.
