Thank you to my dear friend and former teacher to many of these kiddos for teaching us about the voting process. Students were able to make their own voting card, used Venn diagrams for research, and participated in a mock election (T. Swift/Morgan Wallen). 🇺🇸 @EastElemCCS
We had the best Pirate Day in Math to review our division skills. Students created area model pirate boats, dug for gold to find quotients, used a treasure map to find partial quotients, and even completed a walk the plank sorting activity! 🏴☠️ ⚓️➗@EastElemCCS
We read one of my favorites; “A Remainder of One,” then had fun in math by dividing candy corn into equal groups to find quotients and remainders! Long division, here we come! @EastElemCCS
It was a great day to have a Math PBL Game Day in class! Students created football field area models, solved multi-step problems involving concession stands, matched models/expressions/products, and had a scavenger hunt around the room! 🏈
Today students had fun completing “Great White Math.” Students read about Great Whites, 🦈 completed multiplication problems, and created informational posters!
We love our morning meetings and look forward to the funny jokes & character words each day! Today was “Thoughtful Thursday,” so we reflected on some things we’re grateful for. @EastElemCCS
We used our special treats (Graham crackers, marshmallows, and pretzels) to understand the meaning of subtraction using standard algorithm. It was definitely a “tasty lesson.”
So proud of each group for creating the best summer water parks! They also created commercials & brochures to persuade us to come see their fun! @EastElemCCS
We have been busy planning & designing our Summer water parks! Students used area and perimeter to measure out each section of their park! So proud of their creativeness and teamwork! #MATH#STEM@EastElemCCS
We have learned how to classify triangles by their sides and angles, so it was time to make “triangle people.” Students were given a specific triangle to create and they turned out so good!
