⭐ SPRING AWAKENING - ROYAL ACADEMY OF MUSIC ⭐

Well this was SENSATIONAL ✨

Spring Awakening is a show I've not had much exposure to, with my first contact with it being the critically-acclaimed Almeida production, which I enjoyed but came away from it feeling a bit confused. I was hoping to see it again, to soak it in fully but alas the pandemic had other ideas 💔

So I was very exited to see what the @RoyalAcadMusic would come up with, and they did not disappoint 😍

Beautifully mounted, with fantastic staging by director Hannah Chissick, thrilling choreography by Shay Barclay, with some gorgeous lighting design by Andrew Exeter ✨

An absolutely stellar cast, with superb performances all-around 👏

Beau Woodbridge made for a very charismatic Melchior, opposite the brilliant and utterly believable Hannah Eve Walker as Wendla 🌟

Charlie Weaver gave a heartbreaking, manic performance as the tortured Moritz 💔

Daisy Snelson was an omnipresent, ethereal presence onstage, as Ilse 💖

Sam Sayan elictied the most laughs of the show for his pitch-perfect performance as Hanschen. The comic timing was delicious 😘👌

Special mention of some absolutely beautiful vocals from Sarah Giulianti as Martha and Callum Fisher as Georg 🎶

Honestly I could not fault any of the cast, my only disappointment was that I wasn't able to see it again, to also see the other cast 🥺

The Royal Academy of Music production of Spring Awakening has completely turned me into a fan of the show. Bravo to all involved 🌟 X x x
