It is indeed the need of the hour to see that real spirituality works in both directions:
It looks outward with honesty, and that is rationality.
And it also looks inward with honesty, and that is self-knowledge.

Rationality and self-knowledge must go together, so say the Upanishads:

अन्धं तमः प्रविशन्ति येऽविद्यामुपासते ।
ततो भूय इव ते तमो य उ विद्या��ां रताः ॥
They enter into blinding darkness who worship only avidyā (outer rational knowledge);
into still greater darkness those who delight in only vidyā (inner self-knowledge).

विद्याञ्चाविद्याञ्च यस्तद्वेदोभयं सह ।
अविद्यया मृत्युं तीर्त्वा विद्ययाऽमृतमश्नुते ॥
He who knows vidyā and avidyā together crosses death through avidyā and attains immortality through vidyā.

No human should enter a sewer. PERIOD.

Machines are not a luxury, they are a basic right.

Yet 𝗵𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗱𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘀𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗲𝗿𝘀 die every year in India doing exactly that, entering drains, sewers, and septic tanks with their bare hands.

But do you hear any 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 about their lives?

Elections happen constantly in this country, yet these topics never make it to a single page in any manifesto.

Why?

Because people don't demand it.

This is precisely what 𝗔𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗿𝘆𝗮 𝗣𝗿����𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗻𝘁 points to, a state cannot rise if its voters remain inwardly unaware.

As long as the mind keeps following 𝗰𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲, 𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗯𝗶𝗲𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿, and emotion at the ballot, elections become nothing but a ritual.

What we need is a teacher, one who can awaken the 𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝘃𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗿 before the outer vote is cast.

Let this image remind us all, knowledge is a blade for inner surgery, not an ornament for the shelf.
