We are so excited to share what we've discovered about cellular responses to #criticalillness in humans, with evidence for cellular hypoxic adaptation under life-threatening stress @dr_katieOB@andrewmurray78 @deoxyexplorer @XtremeEverest

Looking forward to hearing from #ICM trainees undertaking academic roles at the first “listening event” tomorrow! Hosted by @TRICNetwork, @drdhruvparekh@FICMNews; we’re eager to hear about everyone’s experience and to start working on how we can help.
@DrPujaMehta1 @19@drdhruvparekh The aim of the session is to gather info from ICM academic trainees, hear about issues related to integrating academic and clinical training, and hopefully answer some of the questions that have already been sent to @MitoExplorer.
@DrPujaMehta1 @TRICNetwork@19@MitoExplorer I’ve heard there is huge amount of variation around the country, lots of challenges. Want to hear about these and things that work have gone well. I know I’ve faced some for our trainees and we want to understand and hopefully improve
Calling all Academic ICM trainees!
You asked and we listened. In collaboration with FICM representatives Helen McKenna & Dhruv Parekh, the TRIC Network will soon be hosting its first listening event.

It's on PubMed! So pleased to be able to share 1st PhD paper on patient experience of trache, with clinical implications for ICU MDT, 🙏 to wonderful co-authors! @drnatpat@sarahwallaceslt@gemmaclunie@csmithUCL @deoxyexplorer https://t.co/1ziYHZuPwE
Question for UK #ICM trainees and trainers: does anyone have any experience of the new CESR-combined programme route towards CCT? @FICMNews@ICS_updates
@CatFelderhof @FICMNews@ICS_updates Yes - there seems to be confusion/anxiety around the terminology of “CESR-CP” to describe being on the training programme for a CCT qualification (whilst having some prior ICM experience counted towards training time).
@TaquaDahab @_aacw @FICMNews@ICS_updates This is what I have been told, and wondered if anyone had any personal experience of being on the CESR-CP route towards CCT?
So many of us are drawn to intensive care training from different backgrounds - it would be great to hear whether this ability to count previous experience has been straightforward, in ICM or other specialities?
Calling all UK academic #ICM trainees! Would you be interested in being part of a UK network, connecting academic trainees from different regions to share experiences of integrating academic with ICM training? Please get in touch via DM! @FICMNews@NIHRresearch@ICS_updates
Beautifully written piece, deftly explaining the starker realities of intensive care:
“It maintains life, but does not make you stronger. In fact, it reliably makes you weaker”
“We are bookies; not prophets.”
Amazing opportunity to undertake PhD in human cell adaptation from bench to bedside @PlymUni with @deoxyexplorer. Proposal builds on work by @jiajiastevens@jasonvanschoor@XtremeEverest
