We mourn the passing of Anthony Stewart Head, a versatile musical theater/TV/commercials performer, known for 'Buffy' & 'Ted Lasso.' He created lovable characters, & characters we loved to hate. Our condolences to his daughters. #SagAftraMember since 1993 https://t.co/NTx3o0qFcu

Teacher presidents from across Canada met to discuss the alarming actions of governments using the Notwithstanding Clause to override constitutionally protected rights to freedom of association, collective bargaining, and strike action. This heavy handed action is undemocratic and we will fight back! Listen to watch @ETFOpresident had to say to Ontario’s Premier and Minister of Education #onted #canlab
June is National Indigenous History Month. This is a time for people in Canada to come together and celebrate First Nations, Métis, and Inuit peoples; a time to reflect on, listen and learn from the diverse experiences and knowledge of Indigenous peoples across Turtle Island and recognize their contributions - past and present.
For many Canadians, the history of Indigenous peoples in Canada was, and in some cases still is - unknown due to a history of colonization. We use this month as a time to reflect on the past and look to the future.
Together we can amplify the voices and strengths of Indigenous youth, leaders and communities by highlighting their contributions and showing up to affirm calls for change.

A $6.4 million cut to special education funding at the TDSB is not just a Toronto problem. It reflects a growing crisis in schools across Ontario.
Student needs are increasing, but supports are not keeping pace. Teachers and education workers are already stretching limited resources to support students every day.
Every Ontario student deserves access to the supports they need to succeed. Public education needs real investment in special education, not cuts.

SISTER ACT was released 34 years ago today.
The film became such a surprise box office hit that it turned into one of the most successful comedy releases of 1992, eventually spawning a sequel, a stage musical, and decades of enduring popularity.
Today some teachers in the HDSB are receiving letters there is no job for them September or that their sections have been ✂️. Underfunded public education real impacts. Students without teachers to support them. Teachers without work they love. #RedForEd#OnPoli#OntEd#osstf
