👋 @MitzvahDay is all about humanity and giving back to the community.
A big thank you to BP Synagogue for their amazing work supporting Laurence’s Larder and other local charities.
It was great to get involved today in #Brent.
Ahead of @MitzvahDay, last week the JLC team visited the @Jewish_Care Sandringham Campus. We spent time meeting residents and even joined their weekly choir for a sing along!
Lovely to spend time with the Kol Chai Hatch End Reform Synagogue at their AGM this evening to talk about the work of the @BoarofDeputies. Was so impressed with the incredible range of activities that the community is involved in. Today was a very full @MitzvahDay programme.
Mitzvah Day reminds us that small deeds can make a big difference.
What started out as a gathering of 100 people 20 years ago, now has 40,000 volunteers doing good all over the country.
It’s about coming together as a community and embracing the value of service.
Ours is a government of service, and I’m focused on building a society rooted in dignity and respect.
A privilege to join colleagues and volunteers as we marked the 20th anniversary of @MitzvahDay, the UK’s largest faith-led day of social action.
To Londoners across our city volunteering their time today: thank you ⬇️
This #MitzvahDay, we’re turning Jewish values into action.
The Cost-of-Living crisis has undermined the basic rights that uphold human dignity. Rooted in kavod, we’re strengthening our commitment to justice all year long.

@MitzvahDay is one of the highlights of my year. It was a privilege to join the community at JW3 today to see food parcels being prepared and gifts being wrapped. I want to say a huge thank you to all the other activities I know were happening around my constituency and beyond
An uplifting @MitzvahDay spent with @mayoroflondon and Jewish, Muslim and Christian networks packing boxes with @mayorsfund for London to give out to communities. This wonderful day unites people of all faiths & strengthens communities - values we need now more than ever
At a time when divisions are rising across the world, coming together in the spirit of community to celebrate our shared values has never been more important.
For Mitzvah Day, I joined Jewish, Muslim & Christian colleagues to prepare boxes for Londoners facing food insecurity.
It was a real privilege to join colleagues and volunteers as we marked the 20th anniversary of @MitzvahDay, the UK’s largest faith-led day of social action.
I was proud to stand alongside Jewish, Muslim and Christian colleagues to pack surplus food boxes for Londoners in need.
This year, we’re excited to be supporting @MitzvahDay by coming together within our communities to participate in meaningful acts of kindness. The US Chesed team are gearing up for a busy Mitzvah Day with an extra special Asylum Seeker Drop-in, multiple gift wrapping sessions, sustainable Havdallah kit packing, food packing, cooking sessions and a river clean in partnership with @ecojudaism.
There is an impressive number of activities taking place across our synagogues and everyone is encouraged to get involved or learn about what their own community is doing. For further information on an activity in your area, please contact your local synagogue or Chesed's Social Responsibility Manager, Hannah Gerson, [email protected].
For #interfaithweek the Women’s Faith Forum brought together young women who are inspiring and shaping British society. It was an opportunity to celebrate the work we do as women driven by our faith traditions and to celebrate our similarities. Thank you @Miatsf and @SteveReedMP
To the Mitzvah Day trustees, past and present, thank you for your unwavering commitment to Mitzvah Day!
This trustee week, we are highlight the hero’s behind the scene of our charities. Thank you for all that you do to support the very important work of Mitzvah Day👏🏼💚

Ahead of @MitzvahDay next month, Stanmore & Canons Park Synagogue brought together six communities for a multifaith gardening project in Canons Park, tidying overgrown flower beds, planting daffodils, and filling 40 wheelbarrows of weeds and 10 bags of rubbish. Joined by local leaders and volunteers of all ages, the day was a chance to put this year’s theme of ‘building bridges’ into action, fostering connection across faiths and generations.
💚 Mitzvah Day is on Sunday 23 November, reach out to your local shul to get involved or join Chesed's Toy Drive wrapping!
