@jmlw1 also need to think about digital preservation because if there are records over 10 years of retention, keeping it on an external hard drive may mean that you cannot read it when you need it e.g. usb plug, file type, software change etc
@jmlw1 In terms of records being kept after closure of the business, it would make sense to have a process in place that inc. records and what should happen to them especially addressing format as digital is easy enough to keep on a hard drive but physical is another matter.
@jmlw1 In the terms of contract you should have a section in the exit strategy for records coming back to you within 30 days at max. Closing down portals of external access too.
